Lanier-Forsyth Rotary Club, one of over 35,000 Rotary Clubs across the world, is committed to uniting people to take action on issues within their community and creating lasting change.<\/p>\n
Following the cancellation of their 2020 fundraising event, Lanier-Forsyth Rotary Club was determined to hold their 2021 Down and Derby event. Using Givergy\u2019s ticketing and online auction platform, as well as an onsite event team, they were focused on offering a great experience for their supporters. Proceeds from the annual Down & Derby event help support several local charities including CASA of Forsyth County, Baldridge Lodge, Family Promise, Jessie\u2019s House, L.E.A.D.E.R. and B.A.D.G.E.<\/p>\n
Historically, Lanier-Forsyth Rotary have raised a net amount of between $60,000 and $80,000 from the event. This year however they exceeded what they thought possible and raised between $90,000 and $100,000.<\/p>\n

Top Tip:<\/strong> “Make your fundraising event fun for your guests! Our event was built a little bit like a 6 hour party around a 2 minute horse race! Fundraising events can become formulaic for donors, so we thought carefully about the running order of our event to guarantee that our guests were in the best possible mood when bidding for the auction items. Alcohol was also free at the event, which may have helped!
