Running a raffle or prize draw  is one of the most engaging ways to raise funds. It gives supporters something fun to take part in while helping your cause reach its goals faster.

But managing ticket sales, keeping track of entries, and making sure everything stays compliant can be a lot to juggle. That’s where using a fundraising platform like Givergy makes all the difference.

With Givergy, you can set up a fully compliant online prize draw in just a few steps with no spreadsheets, no manual tracking, and no confusion about who’s won. Everything runs through one easy-to-use platform designed for charities and non-profits.

Here’s how to get started.

  1. Turn on the Prize Draw feature

Every great prize draw starts with the right foundation. With Givergy, that means making sure the Prize Draw feature is switched on for your campaign.

Head to Campaign Settings → Features and toggle on “Prize Draws.” Once it’s active, you’ll see it appear in your campaign menu, ready to set up..

  1. Create your prize draw

Now it’s time to bring your prize draw to life. Click “Create New Prize Draw” and start filling in the key details that make your campaign unique.

You’ll choose where your draw is based, how tickets will be sold, and what prize is up for grabs. Add a clear title, your start and end dates, ticket price, and the total number of tickets available. You can even set a minimum age for participation and decide whether to show or hide the retail value of your prize.

  1. Add your story and images

Don’t forget that great fundraising tells a compelling story. Use the Description box to share what makes your prize special and why supporters should take part. Keep it a few paragraphs long; short enough to scan, but rich enough to inspire.

Then bring your story to life with images. Upload high-quality, landscape photos that look great on phones and tablets. A strong visual connection can make all the difference.

And if you’re based in the UK, don’t forget to include your postal entry details — it’s a legal requirement for all prize draws.

  1. Preview and activate your draw

Before you go live, take a moment to see things through your supporters’ eyes.

Once you’ve saved your details, you’ll see new tabs appear:

When you click Activate, your draw will automatically open at your chosen start time. It’s really that simple.

  1. Close your draw and celebrate your winners

After your draw ends, it’s time for the best part – announcing the winners.

Head to Close Prize Draw to pick them using Givergy’s built-in random draw tool, which ensures everything is fair and transparent. Once the winners are selected, you can send them an automatic notification and download a full results report.

It’s a quick, compliant process that keeps your supporters informed and excited from start to finish.
